Stuck at IndiGo? Cancellations Exposed + Quick Fix Tips
Several IndiGo flights are being canceled throughout India due to new safety rules that have been put in place for pilots. A DGCA regulation specifies that the pilots will be given more rest time and that night flying hours will be reduced in order to reduce fatigue and ensure the safety of flights.
IndiGo flies over 2,200 trips a day, mostly at night and early in the morning, so when pilots are prevented from flying as usual, hundreds of flights get delayed or cancelled. Despite bad weather, airport crowds, and small tech issues, the airline admits the new rules hit them worse because they kept pilot hiring low and rosters too tight.
Over 500 flights have been cancelled in recent days. To fix
crew gaps, IndiGo will cut some flights from December 8 to February 10, 2026.
The DGCA is watching closely and asking for regular updates. Flights on other
airlines are fewer and less night-focused.
If you're flying IndiGo, check your status on their app or
site often. Ensure you arrive early, pack water, snacks, and medicines. Keep an
eye on IndiGo social media for refunds or changes, and pick flexible tickets.
